Amen

AMEN is one of my favorite words and just so happens to be one of my favorite people.  I was blessed to meet by far one of the most powerful and moving individuals that will ever enter my life, Amen Iseghohi. Not long after we met Amen and I climbed a mountain together.  When we reached the top we told each other our goals and dreams.  Unlike most people, Amen never gave up and within a few short years he has created one of the biggest fitness movements to ever hit the world.  Amenzone Fitness. Wanna Dance?

Recently I was able to celebrate the Grand Opening of HiFi the hottest new nightclub in Scottsdale, Arizona. Shooting for nightclubs is one of my favorite things to do. Generally I am told the theme of the club and then it's time to fly.  This one was a modern day twist to the 80's roller girl, skateboards and graffiti walls.  We ended up with 2 full day shoots that lasted about 12-14 hours each from the start of hair and makeup to the last shot of the day.  I photographed in the height of the Arizona heat in downtown Phoenix against some of the most amazing graffiti walls. We used a rack of clothing and a dumpster in the alley as a makeshift dressing room. 80's music played on vintage boom boxes and we ate pizza off the top of a car. They were long, hot days but as always the team was amazing and we had the time of our lives creating what now is the focal point in...hands down... the hottest night club in town.  Come out and see the final shots (4420 N Saddelbag Trail, Scottsdale) displayed on 15 foot panels above the bar. A graffiti artist painted black light on top of the prints and they shift to something completely different at night.  Truly a work of art!

The Iron Lady and the Mouseketeer

This evening I sit and ponder what the Iron Lady must be saying to the Mouseketeer in heaven. Two women who have impacted many women in society over a span of countless years.  Two women who could not be any different.  One of my favorite quotes from Maggie may be... "Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't."
One of my favorite quotes from the world's best known beach bunny is... "Of all the roles I've played, none has been as fulfilling as being a mother." How hard yet how soft.  One of the best compliments I have had in life as a woman in business is that I rule with an iron fist with a velvet glove. I love the business that I am in and being a modern woman yet my biggest accomplishment is that of raising my daughter and being a mother.
